About Me
BA (Psychology), Adv.Dip. Humanistic Integrative Counselling, MBACP, Chartered MCIPD.
Before training to become a therapist, I worked for over 20 years in HR, Recruitment and Training & Development for a number of FTSE 500 companies. I also set up my own Management Consultancy business in 1994.
I know all about the pressures of working in the City while bringing up a family. In fact, it was my own experience of life in the corporate world which made me want to train as a therapist, helping others with work-related stress and anxiety, knowing from personal experience how these impacted on ones’ personal life, family and friends.
I am a fully qualified therapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As such I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Counselling Practice and in particular its’ strict rules about confidentiality.
I offer an integrative approach, which means I can draw from a diverse range of therapeutic approaches and interventions. This enables me to tailor my work to each individual client, so they can explore, better understand and then work through the difficulties they are experiencing. I will help you to gain more insight and understanding about who you really are, and what you want out of your life, so you can find a better way forward. I am warm, down to earth yet professional, and my style is to work with you. I am curious and sometimes challenging, but always supportive and non - judgemental.
In addition to my private counselling practice and corporate work, I teach the Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at the CPPD Counselling school in London. I also volunteer at numerous charities, helping people with various difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues and loss and bereavement.
